Operasi Gabungan (Opsgab) yang digelar pemkot, polresta dan kodim pada Jumat malam (3/7/2020) sampai Sabtu dini hari (4/7/2020) menemukan satu pengunjung cafe di kawasan lembah dieng Kota Malang reaktif. Satu orang Pengunjung kafe yang reaktif tersebut sudah dua kali menjalani rapid test dan hasilnya masih sama reaktif. Untuk penanganan lebih lanjut, Satu pengunjung kafe reaktif tersebut dikirim ke rumah isolasi yang berlokasi di Jalan Kawi.
Kota Malang yang sebelumnya masuk zona oranye, kini menjadi zona merah karena peningkatan jumlah kasus COVID-19 mengalami peningkatan tajam. Update data Data persebaran pandemi Covid-19 Kota Malang per-3 Juli 2020 menunjukkan peningkatan konfirm Positif covid-19 sebanyak 17 orang. Angka ini membuat total Total yang terkonfirm positif Covid-19 sebanyak 234 orang dengan rincian penambahan meninggal 18 orang, bertambah 1 orang jika dibandingkan dengan sehari sebelumnya. Sebanyak 151 orang terkonfirm positif Covid-19 dirawat, bertambah 11 orang dari hari sebelumnya.
Angka Orang Tanpa Gejala (OTG) Kota malang tercatat mengalami kenaikan sebanyak 23 orang sehingga total menjadi 784 orang. Tingginya angka OTG ini mendapat perhatian pemkot, polresta dan kodim dengan kembali menggelar Opsgab. Wakil Walikota Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi jkarwoko, Kapolresta Malang Kota Kombes Pol Leonardus Simarmata, Dandim 0833 Kota Malang, Letkol Inf. Tommy Anderson ikut serta dalam tim Opsgab. Ada dua tim yang menyisir bagian barat dan timur Kota Malang. Tim Barat menyisir mulai dari Mako Kodim 0833 Kota Malang Jl. Kahuripan bergerak menuju Jalan Ijen, Jalan Jakarta, Jalan Kawi dan kawasan lembah dieng Kota Malang. Sedangkan Tim timur menyisir stasiun, bengawan solo, sulfat, sawojajar, ranugrati dan rampal.
Bung Edi sapaan akrab Wakil Walikota Malang menyampaikan pentingnya opsgab pemkot, TNI dan Polri. “ Ini sangat mengkhawatirkan, oleh karena itu saya bersama pak kapolres, pak dandim hari ini melakukan langkah mendisiplinkan masyarakat termasuk kegiatan rapid test ini.” Ujarnya.
